About Kathleen
I’ve always been captivated by animals. I’m the one who brought home the baby bird, the kitten, the gerbil in my luggage, and the chinchilla that needed a home. I even tried to keep a vole as a pet (it escaped in the house — ouch!). I stop anyone with a furry or non-furry companion in tow just to take their picture. It’s no surprise that many of my friends are ranchers, farmers, stable owners, environmentalists, forest rangers, and birders. For now, I have only two dogs — my community’s official limit!
My love for photography began early. In the 1970s, my brother set up a darkroom in my grandparents’ basement, and though I wasn’t always invited, I found my way in to develop black-and-white film. In 1996, I spent four inspiring days at The Disney Institute learning photography, and with the arrival of digital cameras, I was officially hooked.
Over the years, I’ve explored many art forms — painting in various mediums, even teaching alcohol ink painting for two years. My passion for both art and animals led me naturally into digital artistry. During the Covid pandemic, I devoted myself fully to creating art that tells a story — blending photography, humor, and imagination.
I strive to create fun, whimsical, and quirky animal art — from tattooed goats on motorcycles to snoring dogs with their legs in the air. If it makes you smile, I’ve succeeded.
It’s simple math, really:
Animals + Photography + Painting + Computers + Me = Fun Animal Graphics
